SPRING

Mid-March
Bull elk are shedding their antlers in the Elk & Bison Prairie.

Late-March
Osprey begin nesting activities.

Mid-April
Crappie, largemouth bass, and sunfish will be moving to shallow areas in coves to spawn. Catfish begin biting below dams and in the main lakes. Whippoorwills start calling.

Bald eagles still incubating eggs and young are beginning to hatch. Spring migration of migratory/new-tropical birds is ending. Northern bobwhite quail and eastern wild turkey begin to nest.
