Power Restored to LBL Administrative Office
GOLDEN POND, KY - Electrical power and telephone service has been restored to Land Between The Lakes (LBL) administrative office at 100 Van Morgan Dr., Golden Pond, KY. Since the ice storm on Tuesday, January 27, LBL has been without electrical power, water and telephone services.
The rest of LBL remains closed to all visitors at this time. Only The Trace (the main LBL north-south road) is open from Dover, TN to Grand Rivers, KY. All other LBL roads, facilities, trails, and areas are closed to the public until further notice. Also, Devil's Elbow Lake Access Area is closed due to the construction taking place there for the US Hwy 68/80 project. LBL remains hazardous to visitors due to the numerous downed trees and powerlines. Until those hazards are cleared, LBL will remain closed to the public. New updates will be sent out to the media and posted on the LBL website www.lbl.org.
Land Between The Lakes is managed by the Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, in partnership with "Friends of LBL", to provide public lands outdoor recreation and environmental education. Additional information is also available on our website at www.lbl.org, or by calling 1-800-LBL-7077 or 270-924-2000.
