LBL Hosting Nature Photography Workshop April 25
GOLDEN POND, KY - Budding photographers are invited to attend the annual Nature Photography Mini-Workshop on Saturday, April 25, at Woodlands Nature Station in Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area. The workshop is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will be led by distinguished regional nature photographer, Denise Boaz, and Murray State's Graphic Communications faculty member, Gross Magee. During this 4-hour mini-workshop, Boaz will explain exposure and composition, then help you practice your photography skills as you take photos in the field. Magee will offer tips and advice about using digital cameras. Participants will also receive an instructional book to take home. The workshop is limited to 20 participants to ensure more personal instruction.
"We look forward to this workshop each year and are excited to have Denise Boaz and Gross Magee back again," said LBL interpreter Carrie Szwed. "Whatever type of camera you use, nature photography is a great way to enjoy, record, and learn about the natural beauty of LBL."
The $30 workshop fee covers the cost of the program, instructional book on photography, and admission to the Nature Station. Participants should bring their camera (35mm SLR or digital), several rolls of film, lunch and drinks, and dress appropriately for the weather. Pre-registration and full deposits are required by calling 270-924-2020.
This workshop is an excellent opportunity to brush up on your photography skills in time to participate in the Land Between The Lakes Photo Contest. The LBL Photo Contest honors Gene Boaz and his accomplishments as a nature photographer. For more information visit www.lbl.org and click on the LBL Photo Contest link.
