LBL Quota Deer Hunt Applications Available Online July 1

GOLDEN POND, KY - Applications for 2009 Quota Deer Hunts at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area may be submitted from July 1 through July 31 online through a link on www.lbl.org. The application fee will remain at $5 for an online application. For a $7 application fee, individuals who do not have access to the Internet can call 1-800-525-7077 and submit an application by phone from July 13-July 24, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Central Daylight Time.

Deer harvested on LBL are bonus deer and do not count toward statewide bag limits. In order to balance the sex ratio of the herd and allow more bucks to reach older age classes, all quota hunt permits will be either-sex permits. Also, there is an LBL-wide one (1) antlered buck limit.

The Youth Hunt is an either-sex hunt for hunters 6 through 16 years old in Tennessee, and under age 16 in the Kentucky portion. Youth hunters must possess a state-approved hunter safety card or certificate on their person while hunting according to state regulations. Youth not required to have a hunter safety card must possess proof of attendance at a hunter safety course. Each youth must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years old who meets hunter safety requirements.

Applicants who applied online can check the website at www.lbl.org near the end of Augustto see if they were drawn. Those who submitted their application by phone can call 1-800-525-7077 to see if they were drawn.
