This wildlife tour is a pilot program to help LBL visitors plan where to go for a self guided adventure. If you'd like to see wildlife, look over the selections on the map; choose the ones that fit your needs and interests. You will need to print this PDF document and bring it with you. Wildlife Viewing

Early morning and late afternoon are generally the best times to observe wildlife. Close attention and quiet patience will help ensure the thrill of seeing wild animals in their natural habitat. Good luck and happy viewing!

Little Things Can Make a Big Difference!

Don't forget to use bug spray for mosquitoes and ticks. Products with permethrin should be applied to clothing to kill ticks and products with DEET can be applied to clothing and skin to repel ticks and mosquitoes. Wear long sleeves and tuck your pant legs into your socks or tape them down to keep ticks and chiggers from climbing up your legs. Don't forget to check for ticks after returning home and remove them right away!

Food & Gas

Although LBL does not provide food (besides vending machines) or gas services, many restaurants and gas stations are located near the entrances to LBL. Please fill up your gas tanks, before you come exploring. If you'd like to pack your lunch, LBL has many picnic areas that offer scenic views of lakes or forests.
